Overview
Founder Reality participates in both affiliate programs (tech products and services) and advertiser programs (credit card and loan referrals). When you click certain links on this site and make a qualifying purchase or signup, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This page explains which programs we are part of, how we mark these links, and our editorial policy for what we recommend.
Editorial Independence
A commission does not change what we recommend. We only link to products and services we have used ourselves, researched thoroughly, or believe would genuinely help the reader. If a product is not a good fit for you, no commission would be worth misleading you about it.
- We do not accept payment in exchange for a positive review
- We do not let affiliate programs dictate editorial direction
- We will name non-affiliate alternatives when they are the better choice
- If a previously recommended product becomes worse, we update or remove the recommendation
What We Participate In
We participate in programs across two categories:
- Technology and infrastructure — cloud hosting, developer tools, and SaaS platforms
- Financial services — credit cards, loan refinancing, and related referrals
If you want to know whether a specific link is affiliated and with whom, reach out — happy to answer.
How We Mark Affiliate Links
Every affiliate link on this site is marked so you can identify it before clicking:
- The link uses a distinct underline style that differs from regular inline links
- The HTML includes
relattributes that signal the commercial relationship (sponsored, plusnofollow, noopener, and/ornoreferreras applicable) - Posts that contain affiliate links carry a disclosure note near the top of the article
- Every page on this site displays a site-wide affiliate notice at the top until you dismiss it
Why Links Go Through /go/
Affiliate links on this site route through founderreality.com/go/ before reaching the partner. When you hover a link, that's what you see in your browser's status bar.
We do this for three reasons:
- Transparency — you see a familiar founderreality.com URL instead of a long third-party tracking link
- Analytics — we learn which recommendations readers actually find useful, so we can remove what doesn't help
- Durability — if a partner URL changes, links don't rot across hundreds of published articles
The final destination is always the partner's real URL — you'll see it in your address bar the moment after you click. We don't intercept, repackage, or modify what the partner's page shows you.
How Products Get Recommended
Our process for recommending a product or service:
- We use or research the product before writing about it
- We consider whether it solves a real problem for our readers — founders, operators, and people navigating AI-era work
- We weigh it against non-affiliate alternatives and say so if a free or direct option is better
- We track reader feedback and remove recommendations that no longer hold up
Your Choice
You are never required to use an affiliate link. If you prefer, you can search for any product we mention directly and reach it without going through our referral. The recommendation stands either way — the commission is a thank-you for the writing, not a condition of it.
Third-Party Sites
When you click an affiliate link, you leave founderreality.com and enter a third-party site governed by its own terms and privacy policy. See our Privacy Policy for more on third-party cookies and data handling.
