A whole-week perspective
Work Changed
Compare your workweek before and after AI
A task can get faster while the week stays full. Start with two totals, then look at what changed. For employees, freelancers and founders.
Your entries stay in this page’s memory and aren’t saved. Reload or clear and reset to start over. Copying a summary puts your figures on your clipboard. Sharing the tool includes no figures.
01 / Your weeks
Start with the whole week
Choose representative weeks with similar circumstances. Enter all work hours, including review, meetings and administration. Estimates are fine; count every hour once. Zero is a valid answer.
02 / The change
What happened to your week?
Enter both weekly totals to see whether your week became shorter, longer or stayed the same.
Optional: look at the mix of work
Use the same categories in both weeks. Put checking and fixing in its own bucket, even for a new responsibility. Put meetings and admin under coordination. Leave a bucket blank if you don’t know; enter 0 only when you mean none.
Copies a clean tool link and a general description. No entries or results.
Method & limits
An accounting of time, not a verdict
For each week, entered category hours are added together. Unclassified hours equal the weekly total minus that sum. Blank means not entered, never zero. A category change is shown only when both values are entered. Allocations above the weekly total are rejected.
Change means now minus before. When every category is entered, category changes plus the unclassified change equal the total-week change. Hours that remain unclassified still need an explanation.
These are self-reported estimates from two weeks. They do not establish that AI caused a change, or that output, quality or circumstances were the same. Less production time is not automatically time saved by AI, cash saved or a shorter week. Additional work can be valuable; only you can judge the tradeoffs.
All calculations happen in your browser. This tool has no account, AI call, autosave or input-bearing share URL. The site’s analytics providers are excluded from tool pages. No personal entries are added to analytics, logs or error reports by this tool.
Behind the question
Read George Pu’s I have stopped knowing what a productive day feels like and The parts of AI I could no longer delegate.
OpenAI’s September 2026 research on changing work provides context. It is observational usage research from a selected sample, not proof of AI’s effect on your hours.
